Applications / Development Engineer - Morpeth

Salary up to c£45,000pa plus benefits including bonus, pension scheme, life assurance, on-site parking.

Our client is a world leading manufacturer seeking to recruit an Applications / Development Engineer to join the team at their Northumberland site. 

The Role

The Applications / Development Engineer role will be responsible for leading or assisting the development of new or existing products in a specialist safety field, providing hands-on support to the Operations teams and working with a range of internal/external stakeholders.

• Develop and release new products
• Act as primary technical interface for customers and operations
• Identify and provide customers with innovate solutions
• Assisting with technical presentations to customers and site visits
• Work with purchasing to identify and source suppliers
• Supporting internal teams to deliver cost effective solutions and NPI
• Maintain in-depth understanding of statutory requirements, regulations and standards
• Work closely with FEA, Engineering, CAPE, QA and 3^rd party testing facilities
• Build strong working relationships with customers
• Attend trade shows and events
• Support the development of production processes and controls
• Proficient in using CAD 3D Solidworks

The Candidate

Candidates will ideally have:

• Degree in Engineering (or equivalent)
• Six Sigma training preferred
• 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience of using DFMEAS
• Proficient in Solidworks 3D CAD
• Strong communication skills
• Practical and confident when working independently as well as effective team player
• The ability to effectively manage multiple projects
• Competency in German language would be a benefit
• Flexibility for some travel in the UK and overseas
