One of the world’s largest OEM Manufacturers with multi sites worldwide, including a large production facility in the North East, are currently looking for a Business Analyst to join their team on a permanent basis.

 

The Role

Reporting to the Group Manager of Business Solutions, you will be responsible for specific processes/modules within the ERP systems across multiple business units. This role will offer the opportunity for you to make a significant contribution to the ICT team.

Main Responsibilities will include:

 

  • Liaise with key users of the systems/processes concerned and act as first point of contact for new change requests.
  • Based on analysis of the problem, propose improvements to current practices/processes and their related systems.
  • Ensure that business requirements from all stakeholders are correctly documented and together with the key user decides which of those requirements are in/out of scope of the project/change.
  • Analyse and interpret business goals, rules, processes and requirements in order to arrive at the functional requirements of the projects/changes to be implemented, using formal business process modelling and requirements engineering techniques.
  • Create a traceability matrix for matching business requirements to functional requirements and monitor the delivery of requirements.
  • Investigate and propose the most appropriate technical solution to meet these requirements and achieve the project /change goals, looking within the current EUICT architectural framework as the first option.
  • Create formalized project plans and budgets, control mechanisms and reporting to ensure delivery of the project within targets. Blend awareness of formal project management methodologies and toolkits (Prince 2, PMBOK) with knowledge of the specific project and business area to arrive at a “right sized” approach per project.
  • Perform ICT integration testing and coordinate business user acceptance testing of changes to ensure that the correct functioning of the change has been validated.

Hours

8am – 4.45pm Mon – Thursday, 8am-12.45pm Friday

 

About You

  • You will be a Graduate in IT or a related Degree such as Business Administration, Computer Science, IT or in a specific business area
  • Have experience with project management methodologies e.g Prince 2
  • Have experience with software development methodologies e.g Waterfall, Agile
  • You will have a good understanding of the demands within a commercial environment and business concepts
  • Be open-minded, constructive, initiative, pro-active, independent & autonomous, service orientation, active learning
  • Have good communication skills, able to bridge the gap between IT and the business, and between IT and vendors and negotiate to achieve win-win solutions
  • Complex problem solving, critical thinking, judgment and decision making, coordination, motivation & negotiation, mathematics & statistics, information ordering, inductive & deductive reasoning
  • Be prepared and able to undertake occasional business travel within Europe and less frequently overseas
