Electrical Design Engineer
Our client is a successful maritime technology company, based in Newcastle, who are looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to join their team. The purpose of the role is to provide technical solutions to complex engineering problems whilst executing design tasks in accordance with the specified requirements.
The Role
The successful Electrical Design Engineer will be report directly to the Senior Engineer and will be responsible for producing the electrical engineering deliverables for a project, sub-systems, or work pack.
Key responsibilities:

Ensuring that design practices, guidelines and company processes are followed

Executing design tasks in accordance with specific briefs

Interpreting mechanical, hydraulic and control requirements to ensure that the electrical design performs as per specification

Ensure that the appropriate amount of analysis/calculations have been performed on the project

Contribute to writing of project technical documentation such as Functional Design Specification and technical specifications

Interface with other disciplines to ensure that the cross-functional requirements of the project are met

Accountability for the safety, quality, and fitness for purpose of design work

Ensuring compliance with design practices, guidelines, standards, and approved processes
About you
The successful Electrical Design Engineer will be knowledgeable, detail oriented and experienced in working within a multi-disciplinary design environment.
Key requirements:

Member of a recognised engineering body (e.g., IET or IMech) or working towards this

Flexible and knowledgeable, with the ability to work across multiple disciples and share ideas

Knowledge and experience in design and manufacture as well as operation of some of Trenchers, Cable/Pipe lay, LARS and bespoke onshore and offshore equipment would be highly advantageous
