Our client is a highly successful Engineering business in the North East. They are currently looking for an Electrical Technician to join them on a permanent basis in their premises in Northumberland.
This role involves offshore working and you will be required to travel.
The Role
The role of the Electrical Technician is to interpret and work to engineering drawings. Inspect, assemble, test and assist in commissioning of electrical systems as identified by Team Lead. Work Offshore on hire or commissioning projects, supervising any Cable Operating staff.
Key Responsibilities:

You will be installing key electrical components during build and assembly.

Checking parts for suitability against drawings.

Assembling electrical systems for specific company contracts.

Liaising with the Team Lead to ensure all parts are available for build.

Carrying out controlled testing of systems to test procedures – including documenting results.

You will be under instruction from the Project team, modifying and upgrading electrical equipment as necessary and ensuring drawings are marked up for subsequent revision.

Initial snagging of a new build/serviced piece of hire kit.

Carrying out pre-commissioning checks of any electrical system. Under instruction from the Project Lead Commissioning of projects.

Inspecting and testing equipment to FAT procedures. Documenting results.

Being responsible for specific inspection, build, test documentation to hand over to Manager to update project.

Working offshore as a cable operator and supervise customers.
