This role will be based at their site in either Prudhoe, Jarrow or Gateshead, alongside field-based, travelling work across the UK.

About the Field Service Engineer Role
As Field Service Engineer you will be an experienced multi skilled maintenance engineer (electrically bias) providing safe, correct and efficient preventative and routine maintenance of NDT equipment and machinery.
Other responsibilities include:

Diagnostics of faults and issues of NDT equipment, machinery, and systems

Repair of equipment, machinery (electrical & mechanical) and systems
-
Correctly disassemble, inspect, clean, replace and re-assemble mechanical assemblies
-
Installation of electro-mechanical systems in accordance with safety standards and regulations
-
Electro-mechanical system testing and commissioning
-
Software uploading, downloading, taking data back-ups
-
Fault-finding connectivity issues and configuring connectivity devices/equipment
About You – Field Service Engineer
As Field Service Engineer, you will be able to work to tight deadlines and have good time management awareness, along with a Level 3 Engineering or Technical qualification. Experience working with NDT or radiography equipment would be highly advantageous although not essential.
Other requirements include:

Ability to apply technical knowledge to solve engineering problems

Experience of installing equipment i.e. marking-off, drilling and mounting equipment to walls/rooms/enclosures

Experience of pulling cables, terminating cables and wiring devices/components
-
Experience stripping down, cleaning and reassembling mechanical assemblies
-
Experienced with industrial software packages and connectivity devices
-
Ability to fault-find and diagnose to a device/PCB – board swapping
-
IT literate with email and MS suite such as Word and Excel
-
Appropriate engineering/electrical experience and training such as an apprenticeship
-
Full manual UK driving licence
A DBS check will be required as part of the hiring process.
