Location: Gateshead (with travel to site)
Salary: £18.50 - £20.50 per hour depending on experience
Installation Electrician
An established UK‑based engineering and construction group, operating across complex technical and critical infrastructure environments, is seeking an Installation Electrician to support the delivery of high‑value, mission‑critical projects.
This role will suit an experienced Installation Engineer with a strong background in electrical installation, testing and commissioning within commercial, industrial or critical environments.
The Role – Installation Electrician
As an Installation Electrician, the role will involve:
- Installing, maintaining and commissioning electrical systems across live and new‑build environments
- Working on power distribution, lighting, control panels, UPS, DC and emergency systems
- Carrying out inspection, testing and electrical certification in line with BS 7671
- Supporting FAT/SAT testing, commissioning and final handover activities
- Ensuring all site work complies with health & safety, regulatory and project requirements
- Producing accurate documentation, test results, certificates and as‑built information
- Coordinating with project teams and other trades to ensure smooth site delivery
- Identifying and resolving electrical faults to minimise downtime and disruption
About You – Installation Electrician
The successful Installation Electrician will demonstrate:
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent
- Gold ECS card and current BS 7671 qualification
- Proven experience in electrical installation and certification
- Strong knowledge of testing, inspection and commissioning practices
- Ability to work safely within critical or high‑risk environments
- Good communication skills and a proactive, quality‑focused approach
