Our client is a world leading manufacturing company with several sites across the UK. Based at their North East site in County Durham, they are looking to strengthen their maintenance team with the appointment of a Multi Skilled Engineer with Electrical bias. Working in a fast paced, complex engineering environment, the Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for ensuring high levels of machine availability, efficiency, reliability and that safety and quality standards are achieved.

 

The role

This is a day shift role (7am - 2.30pm) however there may be a need for the Maintenance Engineer to work a 3 shift pattern and overtime depending on the needs of the business in the future.

 

The main duties of the role will include:

  • Supporting the engineering maintenance strategy to improve health and safety, guarantee quality, reduce waste and optimise productivity
  • Identifying and preventing fault situations on all processing equipment and ancillary devices.
  • Monitoring and adjusting equipment and process conditions to ensure that 'right first time' quality is achieved.
  • Maximising equipment utilisation by carrying out effective preventative maintenance procedures, timely calibrations, and routine safety checks on all processing equipment.
  • Promoting an environment of continuous improvement at all times and assisting in process

 

About You

The successful Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer will have an electrical bias and will have gained experience working in a fast paced production environment. You will be enthusiastic, able to work independently and also as part of an experienced engineering team.

 

Other requirements include:

  • Be time served with a relevant apprenticeship
  • Ideally a HNC in Electrical Engineering
  • Have proven experience as a Multi Skilled Engineer with a sound working knowledge of maintenance techniques
  • Experience fault finding on mechanical systems, hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Experience using SAP would be an advantage however not essential
  • Experience being involved in continuous improvements projects would be desired
