Product Support Engineer - Washington

Our client is a leading OEM Manufacturer based in the North East. Due to an increased demand, they have a newly created position available for a Product Support Engineer to join their Washington based team.

This role will provide all aspects of product after sales support to customers and distributors across Europe. Due to the nature of the role, the Product Support Engineer will be required to travel to sites across Europe on a regular basis.


The Product Support Engineer Role

The Product Support Engineer will provide an effective technical customer support service for all products post delivery. You will act as a direct customer interface on behalf of the business maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and customer support at all times.

Other duties include:

  • To ensure prompt and effective resolution of all customers reported issues.
  • Provide on-site support to resolve machine problems or to advise customer technical personnel.
  • Carry out technical (service) training for distributors and major fleet customers.
  • To conduct pro-active & periodic customer visits to support the ongoing development of effective & valued customer relationships.
  • Visit customer locations to conduct audits on warranty parts, claims & issues.
  • To support pro-active discussions in relation to spare parts.
  • Maintain records of support activities and field service issues.
  • Provide technical information, drawings, etc., to support customer problems and training requirements.


About the Product Support Engineer

You will be an experienced Product Support Engineer with a strong technical engineering background. You will be comfortable travelling to different sites and providing support to a range of customers through technical knowledge and strong communication skills.


Other requirements include:

  • Must possess an Engineering related formal qualification, comparable to UK’s BTEC ONC/HNC Qualification.
  • Must posses excellent communications skills & be confident in dealing with all customer requests.
  • Must be flexible & willing to travel extensively across the EMEA territory to satisfy customer expectations.
  • Language skills would be an advantage however not essential.
