Our client, Komatsu UK, is one the world’s largest OEM manufacturers with manufacturing sites worldwide, including a large production facility in the North East. This Production Engineer role offers a fantastic opportunity to join their Production Engineering Department at their Birtley production facility. This is a 37-hour working week with a fantastic remuneration package.
Working in the Production Engineering Department, you will have the following responsibilities:
- Project Management of plant and equipment installation from initial spec up of the equipment, through purchase, installation and passing on to Production at completion stage, ensuring it achieves safety and efficiency KPI, and minimises the effect on the environment.

Introduction of new models and customisation through to the Manufacturing Departments by establishing a process flow and ensuring complete equipment readiness.

Involvement in large scale improvement projects including Midterm plan activities and factory capacity projects.

Supporting production by improving efficiency and quality of current Manufacturing processes by introducing effective financially viable improvements following Safety, Law Quality, Delivery and Cost guidelines

Actively participating in project teams, Komatsu Way improvement activities and Quality Circles within the Department and as part of cross-functional teams.
About you:

Preferably be educated to degree level or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.

Have theoretical and practical engineering experience.

Good understanding of technical processes and procedures, as well as a high level of engineering knowledge.

Ability to inspire and lead more junior members of the team and encouraging personal development
