    Our client is a successful North East Manufacturer. They are currently looking for a QHSE Manager to be based at their site in Gateshead.

    The Role of the QHSE Manager

    The QHSE Manager will be responsible for managing and leading the company’s quality, environmental, and health and safety systems in line with the company’s strategy. This role is crucial in ensuring ongoing certification and accreditation to meet required standards, driving continual improvement, and fostering a positive culture of change within the business.

     

    Other responsibilities include:

    • Determine the strategic direction of QHSE in the business and deliver priorities in conjunction with the Senior Management team.
    • Lead continuous improvement initiatives, developing effective Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes.
    • Implement strategies to reduce the cost of poor quality (COPQ) across the business.
    • Manage a programme of internal and site audits/inspections to ensure compliance with legal requirements.
    • Ensure ISO 9001, 14001 and BS EN 1090 certifications are retained, managed and in line with the latest standards.
    • Implement ISO 45001 certification for the business.
    • Ensure Environmental and Safety legal requirements are always met while overseeing Health and Safety checks and Occupational Health requirements.

     

    About You – QHSE Manager

    The ideal QHSE Manager will bring a proven track record in managing QHSE systems, with a strong focus on continuous improvement and legal compliance.

     

    Other requirements include:

    • NEBOSH qualification (or similar)
    • Experience of ISO9001, 45001, and 14001.
    • Practical working knowledge of lean methodologies.
    • ISO Auditor trained.
    • Strong IT skills for high-level presentation compilation and delivery.
