This Quality Control Engineer role is a fantastic opportunity to be able to work with a successful engineering business on a permanent basis.
Reporting to the Head of Projects, your primary focus will be ensuring that all products and bespoke projects meet the stringent quality standards set by the company, clients, statutory bodies, and classification authorities. Expertise in quality control will be essential in overseeing the production process of heavy fabrication, machined components, and complex assemblies driven by hydraulic and electrical systems, while ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Responsibilities:

Quality Control Procedures: Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive quality control procedures and guidelines specific to heavy fabrication and complex assemblies to ensure compliance with company, client, statutory, and class requirements.

Inspection and Testing: Conduct thorough inspections and testing of fabricated components, machined parts, and complex assemblies to verify their adherence to design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.

Non-Conformance Management: Identify and document instances of non-conformance or defects, and work with cross-functional teams to initiate corrective and preventive actions.

Supplier Quality Management: Collaborate with suppliers to establish stringent quality requirements for materials, components, and systems used in the fabrication and assembly processes.

Certification Compliance: Ensure that all products and projects meet the necessary certifications and approvals required by relevant classification societies and regulatory bodies.

Root Cause Analysis: Lead root cause analysis for quality-related issues, applying problem-solving methodologies to implement effective corrective actions and prevent recurrence.
About you:

Engineering degree in an appropriate discipline or a related field.

Proven experience as a Quality Control Engineer in heavy fabrication and complex assemblies.

Strong knowledge of quality control methodologies, inspection techniques, and measurement tools relevant to heavy fabrication and complex assemblies.

Familiarity with hydraulic and electrical systems, as well as industry standards and certifications.

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and address quality-related issues.

Ability to lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
